Do Rapid Weight Loss Techniques Really Help?
Thanks to the many methods available today for weight loss, acquiring a hot body worth killing for is no longer just a pipedream. It is indeed possible today to get a healthy-looking, sculpted physique which would envy of one and all around. Sadly though, most people realize that this cannot be done in a mere jiffy. They lack the patience required and instead, endeavor to find ‘shortcuts’ to losing weight. According to them, rapid weight loss programs appear to be the best technique to lose weight fast, without having to wait too long for it.
The fact is that fast-track diets are not really all that beneficial as they might seem at first glance. These will work only as far as you are on the diet. Once you are out of it, you will actually tend to put on weight a lot more rapidly than you lost it! Most of us cannot manage to sustain low carbohydrate or low calorie diets for too long. Hence getting back to our regular diets will naturally get back our weight to what it was before dieting.
What happens during a quick weight reduction program? Research shows that one does not lose so much fat while crash dieting. It is the water content of the body that goes down, that seemingly causes a decline in weight. This ends up alarmingly dehydrating the body. Besides, the lost water can also be replenished really quickly.
Many weight loss products claim to make you slim super-fast. Understand that the body can lose only two to three pounds of fat per week, no more. So you are not actually getting out any unwanted fat out of the body at all.
There is yet another slimming product available in the market today. It is a slimming soap, whose manufacturers claim that this has special Chinese herbs and seaweeds added to it that induce the body to let out its fat. Some of them even claim to shape up the body by bestowing localized weight loss, such as reduction of cellulite on hips, thighs and so on. Though these products may help the skin’s texture, there is yet no proof to say that they indeed do help in their weight loss mission!
Then there are those other products that claim to be able to suppress hunger, yet at the same time, increase the metabolic rate of the system, as also its natural healing powers. The most recent introduction in this multi-billion industry is that of magnetic weight loss earrings! They claim to regulate body weight by balancing the magnetic energy of the body. Though they say that they are studies to back their claims, nothing has been proven yet, medically.
In conclusion, there is only one method to reduce weight and keep it down – a good, healthy diet and exercise regimen. All the other so-called ‘shortcuts’ work temporarily, but nothing can ever beat the good old-fashioned methods of weight reduction. So beware, if you come across some quick weight loss program that seems to sound too good to be true, it actually might be that!
